Separatist Kurdish rebels attacked a military unit near the border with Iraq on Sunday, killing nine Turkish soldiers, private NTV television reported. The attack comes four days after Turkey's Parliament passed a motion allowing the military to launch an offensive into neighboring northern Iraq to stamp out rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, hiding there.
