Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian Authority are attempting to finalize an agreement to secure the release of captured IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit, which would consist of a hudna and freeing Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, Channel 2 reported on Wednesday.
Reportedly, a summit has been planned for Damascus, which would involve representatives of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas, in order to reach a deal for the establishment of a PA national unity government and for Shalit's release.
