PA minister: Hamas, Fatah to hold talks in Gaza

The Palestinian Authority information minister said Hamas and Fatah are to attend an Egyptian-brokered meeting in Gaza later Thursday. However, the information could not be confirmed independently. In recent days, Hamas, which is close to taking military control of Gaza, has repeatedly refused to attend Egyptian-brokered truce talks. Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas was to make a decision Thursday on how to respond to the Hamas military camaign in Gaza. He told PLO members in a meeting he would not take any steps until after the Egyptian-hosted talks are concluded , said Khaleda Jarrar, a Palestinian Authority legislator.
