Palestinian questioned over suspicious envelope sent to Fayad

Palestinian security forces were questioning a man over a suspicious envelope he delivered to the office of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad, officials said Sunday. Fayad spokesman Jamal Zakout said two office guards were briefly admitted to a hospital Saturday because their hands started itching badly after they opened the envelope. He said doctors released them after determining they weren't hurt. Other officials in Fayad's office said the man came from Syria and insisted on handing the envelope to Fayad, but his bodyguards took it instead and opened it. They said the bodyguards were sent to Jordan for more extensive medical tests.
