Syria shored up its defenses in expectation of an Israeli offensive around the Id al-Fitr holiday, the Al-Khaleej newspaper, published in the United Arab Emirates, reported Wednesday.
According to Al-Khaleej, Russia and China were apprised of the developments and sent stern warnings to both Washington and Jerusalem that an Israeli attack on Syria would worsen the situation in the region.
