Report: Two Kurdish rebels killed in clash with Turkish soldiers

Turkey's state-run media say soldiers killed two Kurdish rebels during a clash near the country's border with Iran. Anatolia news agency reported Wednesday that the two rebels were killed in Van province. It was not clear when the clash took place. Kurdish rebels have been fighting for self-rule for Turkey's Kurdish minority, who live mainly along the borders with Iraq and Iran. Tens of thousands have been killed in the fighting since it began in 1984. Turkey has conducted military operations inside the country this year and launched several attacks across the border in Iraq to hit Kurdish rebel bases there.
