Roadside bomb kills 1 US soldier, wounds 8 in Baghdad

A roadside bomb killed one US soldier and wounded eight others in Baghdad, the military said Saturday. The Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldiers were struck Thursday by a blast near their vehicle during combat operations in eastern Baghdad, according to a statement. Six of the eight wounded troops were treated for minor injuries and returned to duty. Identities of the two slain soldiers were not released pending notification of relatives.
