Roadside bomb kills US soldier in Iraq

A roadside bomb killed a US soldier in Iraq's restive Diyala province, the military said Friday. The Task Force Lightning soldier died of injuries sustained in Thursday's explosion, which occurred near the soldier's vehicle in Diyala, where operations are under way to clear the area of Sunni insurgents north and east of Baghdad. The soldier's identity was not released pending notification of relatives.
