Shi'ite extremists fire rockets at Baghdad's US-protected Green Zone

Shi'ite extremists have fired several rockets toward the heavily protected Green Zone and some of them fell short.
A sudden sandstorm has blanketed the capital, enabling the extremists to shell the Green Zone that houses the US Embassy and much of the Iraqi government on the west side of the Tigris River.
Alarms could be heard during Friday's attack,warning residents to take cover. At least one of the rockets fell on the east side of the river, short of the embassy.
