Syrian official: Indirect talks with Israel were positive and serious

The indirect talks conducted between Israel and Syria in Turkey last week were "positive, good, and serious, and were likely to open the door towards" further achievements, a Syrian official familiar with the talks told the London-based newspaper, Al-Quds al-Arabi. In a report published on Monday, the source was quoted as saying that the goal of the talks was to test Israel's stance regarding peace, and to measure Jerusalem's willingness to stand by its commitments.
