Tony Blair arrives in Abu Dhabi for ME talks

British Prime Minister Tony Blair went to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday to urge the oil-rich Gulf state to support the beleaguered leaders of Iraq and the Palestinian Authority. Blair planned to confer with members of the country's ruling royal family including the president, the prime minister and Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. Touring the Middle East to promote new peace moves, Blair has said he sees the Emirates as an important ally in the "arc of moderation" he hopes to encourage across the region.
