UK calls on Israel to stop building in West Bank settlements

"In order for a Palestinian state to exist, Israel must completely suspend building and expansion of West Bank settlements," Bill Rummell, Britain's deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, told reporters in Amman Tuesday.
According to an Israel Radio report, Rummell said that Britain, Jordan and anyone making efforts to bring about peace in the area believe the building must be stopped.
Jordan's Foreign Minister Dr. Salaheddin Al-Bashir said Israel must take active measures in order to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians.
