UNIFIL soldier killed while clearing cluster bombs, mines left by IDF

A UNIFIL soldier from Belgium was killed in southern Lebanon on Wednesday afternoon while working to clear cluster bombs and mines left by the IDF in the Second Lebanon War, according to Lebanese news reports. Another soldier, also from Belgium, was wounded and was evacuated to a hospital in Bint Jbail. The accident came hours after Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met UNIFIL commander Maj.-Gen. Claudio Graziano and demanded his troops accelerate the process of clearing minefields and cluster bombs left by Israel.
