The United States plans to expland its prison facilities in Iraq, which are currently inadequate to house the growing number of inmates - which stands at some 15,000.
A US Army spokesman said Wednesday that the US did not intend to hand management of the prisons over to the Iraqi army until the Iraqi forces proved themselves capable of handling the responsibility, Israel Radio reported.
