Defense Minister Ehud Barak's lawyer Ram Casspi said that the media "loves to hate" his client in an interview with Army Radio on Wednesday, following State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss's report.
Casspi said that the media focused disproportionately on the portion of the report saying that Barak's political finance dealings may have been unethical.

"Barak's actions were not in anyway illegal, nor did he try to manipulate the system," Casspi told Army Radio. "Everything was completely kosher and the media's interpretation, as usual, did injustice to the man."
Navot Tel-Tsur, another of Barak's lawyers, also commented on the report Wednesday, saying that it clears Barak of any allegations he received unauthorized funds from unknown sources during his term at the Defense Ministry.
Tel-Tsur told Israel Radio there was no hint of corruption or improper conduct in the investigation into Barak, so there is no basis for the allegations.
According to Tel-Tsur, the transfer of Barak's consulting firm to his daughters was the appropriate step he could have taken in the short time that was available to him before his appointment.
