Train breakdown near Ashkelon causes commuter delays

Passengers traveling in Center delayed over an hour. Israel Railways fixes malfunction, promises unspecified compensation.

An Israel Railways train that broke down on the single track between Ashkelon and Rehovot caused massive delays for commuters Wednesday morning.
Approximately an hour after the malfunction, Israel Railways reported that the problem was fixed and that trains were once again moving in both directions.

Another problem with a Kiryat Gat train that originated in Beersheba had also been fixed.  Israel Railways has promised that some passengers will be compensated for their delays, but did not specify which ones.
Despite a court blocking railway employees' recent attempts to strike, the trains have encountered constant problems, with delays occurring on an almost daily basis. 
Commuters hoping to avoid train traffic may not have fared better; a bus headed to Jerusalem also broke down Wednesday, causing an hour of delays for road commuters.
