According to a story, a Jewish farmer in the late 1920s, discovered a cave while plowing his field in Israel. He was startled, but managed to identify the golden items as the holy vessels that were used in the First Temple of Solomon.
He drew a makeshift map and traveled to New York with the information on his findings. There he tracked down Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Herman (see Ruchoma Shain’s inspirational book All for the Boss) and asked him what to do with his secret. The rabbi cross-examined the farmer in order to verify the story, then sent his son (from the Mir Talmudic Yeshiva in Poland) to a Jewish sage living in Radin with a confidential letter and map, asking what to do next. The sage confirmed the identity of the holy items, adding that the time had not yet arrived to reveal these Temple items, and instructed all parties to forget the matter for many years, when the Israeli farmer dies.
The story continues. Years later, studying in Lakewood, New Jersey, Herman’s son recalled the episode in Poland, including the map, and passed everything on to a prestigious family member. One thing led to another, and Israelis were found who know the approximate location of the cave lies...
Too incredible to be true? Not at all.
When the First Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, King Nebuchadnezzar stole many Temple treasures and brought them back to Babylonia.
However, legend says that before the Babylonian monarch could get his hands on them, some items were secreted away and buried outside of Jerusalem for a specific purpose – to be found more than 2,000 years later, in preparation for the coming of the messianic Third Temple in Jerusalem.
It seems that the time for this is finally arriving, in our days.

We are living in a special time from a religious, political and cultural standpoint. With the threat of a nuclear Iran, many Jews (and others) are divided as to where their allegiance should be. The flawed nuclear treaty with the mullahs discredits the White House and its Middle Eastern allies; it is just a matter of time until the contract is breached by Iran. As sanctions can no longer be “snapped back,” it is likely that one of the P5+1 countries (China, France, Russia, the UK and the US; plus Germany) – if not Israel itself – will be forced to strike against Iran.
As Winston Churchill said in September 1938 about the Munich settlement, “You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war.”
In America, this has erupted into more than a partisan issue. It has become a full-fledged internal war between AIPAC, which takes direction from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, and J Street, which has been elevated by the Obama Administration.
In context, this is the calm before the storm.
While the fracas is going on in Congress, the PA, France and New Zealand (in cooperation with President Barack Obama) are busy behind the scenes drafting a UN resolution to force Israel to withdraw to the 1948 lines by the end of next year.
The idea is to divide Jerusalem so that the Palestinians will have their capital there, with this and additional parts of Israel for Arabs only (as stated by PA President Abbas). After Congress votes and the Iranian dust settles, the mainstream media will no doubt exert itself to sway public opinion in support of the new UN resolution. There is little chance that the US will veto the resolution. Will the Israeli coalition government be able to resist this latest UN offensive? Israelis in the Right and Center, wary of a Gush Katif-like deal, will fight to retain the status quo in Jerusalem.
What can be done to secure Israel’s lofty future? The best response to the existential threats that face us today is not exercising military might, but rather revealing the truth. Truth is often the best weapon – particularly where the media is concerned.
Discovering the sacred Temple artifacts in the above-mentioned cave could accomplish just that. Revealing the truth is simpler than cracking the DaVinci Code cryptology, and these ancient treasures are arguably even more valuable than what lies behind the code.
Such a ground-breaking discovery can give Israel the strength and moral fortitude to connect back with its ancient roots, and can inspire those in power to respond to the UN threat by drawing our own borders – biblical borders that can be properly defended, including a unified Jerusalem. With these Temple items in our hands, all nations will know that in our days an everlasting edifice will be built in order to house them – a Temple not only for Jews, but for people of all backgrounds and religions.
Dr. Gabriel Barkay, a noted professor at Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv (who appears in my recent book The A.R.K. Report) says that finding these Temple treasures will put to rest once and for all what I call “Temple Denial Syndrome,” which was originated by Yasser Arafat at Camp David in 2000: “They found not a single stone proving that the Temple of Solomon was there, because historically the Temple was not in Palestine (at all). They found only remnants of a shrine of the Roman Herod.” Denying the existence of any historical Jewish structure on the Temple Mount is an integral part of the PA’s media machine.
The Temple wasn’t in Palestine because there was no Palestine! Why do we give in so easily to the Arab propaganda machine, which assaults the truth and common sense? Now it may be possible to prove Arafat wrong once and for all. We’re close to finding the real deal – the “Holy Grail” of the Jews (and everyone) at our (proverbial) front door.
