The Palestinian Authority informed Israel Sunday afternoon that would not participate in the ceremony to handover the Gaza Strip, set to take place shortly at the Erez terminal crossing. Israeli security officials expressed anger over the Palestinians' last-minute decision to boycott the ceremony. Security officials did not rule out the possibility that the decisioncould be linked to Israel's resolution Sunday to leave Gaza synagogues intact.
