Just imagine - four-year-olds from Chicago and 70-year-olds from Miami, youth-movement kids from Sydney and youth counselors from Moscow, preschool children from Pittsburgh, college students from New York University and high school kids from Sderot, all collaborating on a special, meaningful gift for the State of Israel. A hand-crafted, deeply felt creation in blue and white, attesting to the solidarity and fellowship of all Jews, everywhere, for the very special occasion of Israel's 60th Year of Independence.
About the Project
Jewish communities, in Israel and around the world, and everyone who supports Israel, are invited to be a part of this amazing endeavor to create an enormous Israeli flag. People throughout the Diaspora can have a piece of themselves in Israel during this historic occasion. It is easy to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity. It begins by simply going on-line to http://www.Israel-flag4the-future.com to join the project and receive the material for this special Israeli flag, which are pieces of blue fabric, each 30 x 40 cm (11.8 x 15.7 in) that are accompanied by instructions.
The idea is for people to learn about themes related to Israel, Judaism, Zionism and/or Israel's 60th Independence Year of Independence. Participants then draw on the fabric with crayons, permanent markers, or paint pens their expression of these themes. The meaningfully-decorated fabric pieces will then be sent back to Israel, where they will be sewn together to form the two blue stripes and the Star of David in the Israeli flag. The flag will then be displayed in honor of Israel's 60th Year of Independence on numerous occasions in various cities in Israel, the United States and beyond.

This is a unique, creative way to show love and support for Israel. Israel Around You created this project from the heart, not for profit. The sponsoring company, Israel Around You, donated 200 pieces, valued at $1,000, to include the children of Sderot in this special experience.
