This week’s Night Cricket matches produced another last ball finish in the Cup League.

In a thoroughly absorbing and entertaining game, Sri Lanka Jerusalem recovered from its last ball loss the previous week against Telalivit to produce the performance of the week, beating favorites Super Lions Modi’in by four runs.

Set 80 to win, Sri Lanka Jerusalem timed its run chase to perfection and ensured that it did not lose any wickets in the final over to record a vital win in what is turning out to be a highly competitive league. Sri Lanka Jerusalem scored 84 compared to Lions Modi’in’s score of 80.

The Plate League featured a Bet Shemesh derby with the KAT ISRAEMPLOY Tigers against the Gold Insurance Bet Shemesh Lightning.

The Tigers got off to an excellent start, and the batsmen continued the momentum throughout their innings scoring a daunting total of 126. The Lightning was in touching distance, but the last four overs proved to be its undoing as it ultimately lost the match by 31 runs.

This weekend’s fixtures in the Plate League see the KAT ISRAEMPLOY Warriors, who will want to get a win under their belt after their opening loss, take on Modi’in EasyIsrael, which has yet to play this season.

Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys, who are sitting at the top of the Plate League, take on the Pearl Wanderers Cricket Club, which could be the surprise of the league.

In the Cup League takes on Lod Indians, with both teams trying to move off the bottom of the table.

The match of the week will see the two unbeaten teams – Telalivit and CS 8 Ra’anana – lock horns in what should be an epic clash on Thursday December 2 at 7:30 p.m.

All matches take place at the Yahad-Modi’in School, 51 Arvey Nachal St. in Reut.
