Lior Eliyahu's Caja Laboral Vitoria beat Tal Burstein's Fuenlabrada 76-68 on Sunday in the Spanish basketball league's Israeli derby. Despite finding himself on the losing side, Burstein put in his best performance since leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv for Spain in the summer, scoring 11 points in 32 minutes on court. Another former Maccabi Tel Aviv player, Uruguayan Esteban Batista, top scored for visiting Fuenlabrada with 20 points. Eliyahu's season in Europe isn't going as well as he expected. He failed to score a single point and was given only seven minutes on court. Vitoria will now turn its focus to the Euroleague, where it hosts CSKA Moscow on Thursday. Another Israeli had a disappointing start in Europe. Ex-Israel national team coach Tzvika Sherf's time at the helm of Russian outfit Spartak St Petersburg ended in disappointment on Saturday when the team lost 72-71 at home to Enisey. The Russians kick off their Eurocup regular season campaign at home against Turk Telecom on Tuesday.
