Flag Football: WAFI kicks off 6th season

Women's American Flag Football in Israel (WAFI) kicks off its sixth season at Kraft Family Stadium on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 6:30 pm. Sporting 14 teams, the league, sponsored by Moshiko, brings together women of all ages from Jerusalem and its surrounding areas. In addition to WAFI's traditional powerhouses of Big Blue, Ziontours, Mishaan Plumbers, Eden's Eagles, Paige's Lakers, Trumanettes, and Halachic Organ Donor Society, the league also has teams sponsored by PAYGEA, Phone4less, Burgers Bar Five Towns, Law Office of Seth Michael Goldstein, Technolite and Nativ. "Every year the league grows stronger with more talented players. We are excited about the new season and look forward to further developing women's flag football in Israel," said Commissioner Yonah Mishaan. Throwing out the first pass of the season is long-time WAFI sponsor Myra Kraft and Nurit Lev, spokeswoman for 'Ayelet', Israel's organization for the advancement of non-Olympic Sports. Ayelet is a strong supporter of WAFI and the Women's National Flag Football team.
