Although there was just one Israel Cricket Association fixture this past weekend, Shamu Razpurker provided more than enough excitement all by himself. Razpurker smashed 14 fours and 10 sixes as he compiled his third consecutive century for Neveh Yonatan in its 133-run win over Ra'anana 2 in their Division 2 match played in Ashdod on Friday. Shlomi Korman (2 for 40) bowled particularly well in his first spell, and when Gabi Schachat (2-36) bowled both Yaniv Razpurker (32) and Benny Razpurker (4) in the 25th over, Neveh Yonatan was in trouble at 140 for 6 having been asked to bat. It may well have been three Razpurker wickets in the over for Schachat, but Shamu was dropped behind the wicket before he had scored. That proved a costly miss, as the next time Ra'anana could celebrate a wicket, the score had moved on to 312. Amir Daniels (34) gave Razpurker excellent support as the two added a massive 172 runs for the seventh wicket with Razpurker clearing the boundary with ease. His century was greeted enthusiastically by teammates and supporters alike. Neveh Yonatan completed its 40 overs on 320-8, with 147 runs coming from the final 10 overs. Ra'anana's reply could not have got off to a worse start with Yaniv Razpurker (2-21) uprooting Korman's off-stump first ball, and getting Reuven Bergman (9) caught behind with the score on 17. However, Schachat was in an aggressive mood and played quite magnificently by sharing a stand of 61 for the third wicket with Charlton Book (23) to give Ra'anana some hope. Schachat (63) fell trying to hit his fifth six, and although Anthony Harris (43*) hit some boundaries of his own, he ran out of partners with leg-spinner Aby Daniels picking up 4-40. Ra'anana was all out for 187.
