Tzvika Meshi and Nir Yaron won the title at the Volvo Open Championship at the Caesarea Golf Club. Meshi and Yaron finished in first with a score of 45, Sarel Kruger and Fumi Gquiba, South Africa's ambassador to Israel, came in second with 44 strokes. This year, each tournament winner received an NIS 1,500 voucher for the pro shop, in addition to an impressive trophy. First-place winners in the second and third league received NIS 1,000 each. Second and third place winners in all leagues went home with Volvo sunglasses. Aside from an exciting couples match, participants attempted to score a "hole in one" at the 169-meter 10th hole. A winner would have received a new Volvo SUV. One hundred and fifty expert golfers tried but none succeeded, and the half-amillion shekel SUV remained the property of Meir Ltd., importers of Volvo vehicles. The golfers were joined this year by celebrity guests such as TV presenter Tal Mann, model Ingrid Feldman, actor Lucy Duvinsky and younger sister Shani, representatives of the reality show The Ambassador, model Maya Binyamin and partner Dedi Zohar, and Alon Reinhorn, a recent frequent visitor to the Caesarea course. After a brief golf lesson, the celebrities also tried their luck at winning the new SUV. List of all winners: Ball closest to hole 8, Eran Halfon - 4.20 meters; Ball closest to hole 10, Moshe Zarkower - 2.55m. Division C: Third place, Araleh Mankovsky and Jackie Mekmal, 44 strokes; second place, Rafi Tzarfati and Ariel Hasson, 45 strokes; first place, Roni Peleg and Yafa Samuel, 47 strokes. Division B: Third place, Zvi Vilner and Boaz Lev, 46 strokes; second place, Gil Deri and Gabi Weisman, 48 strokes; first place, Kenneth Paisley and Jean-Claude Hirel, 49 strokes. Division A: Third place, Efi Katzman and Morris Fornter, 43 strokes; second place, Sarel Kruger and Fumi Gquiba, 44 strokes; first place, Tzvika Meshi and Nir Yaron, 45 strokes.
