American Registry and Moshiko cruised to doubleheader sweeps on Friday in two of the 17 Moshiko AFI men's contact league matchups this weekend at Kraft Family Stadium in Jerusalem. American Registry defeated IDT Machine 26-0 and 25-0, and Moshiko shut out Tivuch Shelly 19-0 and 25-0 as most of the 50 teams in the Moshiko AFI league enjoyed their first action of the 2007/08 season. Also Friday, Karelitz bounced back from two opening-weekend losses to Magen Av by recording a pair of victories over Eliot Tanzman's squad, 21-6 and 20-6. Magen Av, on the other hand, could not carry the momentum from Week 1 into its second matchup as it dropped a pair to the Zeffrinators, 19-12 and 13-6. The Cobras opened their season with two victories over MadScan, 7-0 and 13-6 at Kraft Family Stadium on Saturday night in front of hundreds of fans, who also saw Croton Watches tie Derech Etz Chaim 6-6 in the first game of their doubleheader and then shut out DEC 13-0 in the second game. Big Blue, which split its opening doubleheader with DEC the previous weekend, once again left Kraft Family Stadium slightly disappointed after a 7-7 tie in the second game of its doubleheader with Kesher, even though it had recorded a convincing 21-0 victory in the first game. Amir White's team defeated Norman's 19-0 and 19-0 in one of the late doubleheaders. For complete Moshiko AFI league results and standings, visit www.israelfootball.net.
