Grant names squad for friendly

IFA announced that Avi Nimni and Alon Harazi would be presented with plaques for 80 appearances.

Outgoing national team coach Avraham Grant summed up his candidacy as Israel coach and published the squad for next week's friendly against Denmark at a press conference at Israel Football Association headquarters in Ramat Gan. Grant, who will takeover Hapoel Tel Aviv this summer and be replaced by current Hapoel coach Dror Kashtan, showed reporters the presentations he used to help motivate the players during the past World Cup qualifying campaign and used the opportunity to thank the IFA for the chance to lead the team and his assistant coaches for their contributions. The IFA announced that Avi Nimni and Alon Harazi would be presented with plaques for 80 appearances and Tal Ben-Haim for 25 international caps before the Denmark game on March 1 at National Stadium in Ramat Gan. The Israeli squad for the Denmark friendly: Goalkeepers: Nir Davidovitch (Maccabi Haifa) and Dudu Awat (Racing Santander. Defenders: Arik Benado, Adoram Keisi, Alon Harazi, Klemi Saban (Maccabi Haifa), Tal Ben-Haim (Bolton Wanderers), Shimon Gershon (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Tomer Ben-Yosef (Betar Jerusalem) and Roni Gafni (Bnei Yehuda). Midfielders: Yossi Benayoun (West Ham United), Idan Tal and Michael Zandberg (Maccabi Haifa), Abas Suan (Bnei Sakhnin), Salim Tuama (Maccabi Petah Tikva), Walid Badir (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Yossi Shivkhon and Ravid Gazal (Hapoel Petah Tikva) and David Revivo (Ashdod).
