The Israeli ice dance duo of Galit Chait and Sergei Sakhnovski finished second in the compulsory dance part of the Cup of Russia, the fifth event of the International Skating Union's Grand Prix series. The Israeli duo trailed Russian team of Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov by a narrow margin of 3.69 points. The pair started skating together ten years ago, but their success really started to pick up in the last three years. The team placed third in the 2002 World Championships and fourth in this year's European Championships.
