There will be no Israelis in the Israel Open singles semifinals after Harel Levy and Amir Weintraub were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage on Thursday at Ramat Hasharon.
Levy, who is ranked No. 156 in the world and was seeded No. 1 in the $50,000 Challenger tournament, lost 4-6, 2-6 to Turkey's Marsel Ilhan (231).
Israel's only other representative in the last eight, Weintraub (346), fell 3-6, 4-6 to Australian Colin Ebelthite (247).
Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich at least ensured on Thursday that there would be Israelis in the final of the doubles tournament, defeating Harel Levy and Noam Okun 7-6 (7), 6-4.
