Guy Levy is set decide on Wednesday whether to continue as the coach of Israel's Under-21 team or to become the new Maccabi Tel Aviv coach. Levy agreed personal terms with the Maccabi management on Monday night, but has yet to sign the contract after being told by the Israel Football Association chairman Avi Luzon that he will not be released from his contract. Levy and Luzon met on Tuesday afternoon after which the IFA announced: "The IFA expects Guy Levy to honor his contract and to continue to guide the team." Levy had said on Monday that "despite the generous offer from Maccabi Tel Aviv I have chosen to honor my contract with the IFA." The coach, however, changed his mind later in the day after further negotiations with Maccabi. Levy, who guided the U-21s at the European Championships this summer, was at the team's training session at National Stadium in Ramat Gan on Tuesday, but refused to comment on how much longer he plans to be coach of the team. The U-21 side plays Luxemburg on September 7 in its first Euro 2009 qualifier and will face Moldova in its second four days later.
