Local Hoops: Netanya, Kiryat-Ata play off for promotion spot

Elitzur Netanya and Elitzur Kiryat-Ata will begin a best-of-five series on Sunday from which the winner will advance to the BSL, joining Maccabi Haifa and Givat Shmuel BC, which secured their promotion to the top division on Thursday.
Haifa and Givat Shmuel, which will face-off in a best-of-three series to decide the National League championship beginning on Wednesday, secured promotion to the BSL with victories over Netanya and Kiryat-Ata respectively.
Haifa completed a 3-1 series victory with a 73-69 home win over Netanya, while Givat Shmuel also won its series 3-1, beating Kiryat-Ata 92-85 on the road.
Despite their defeats, the winner of the Netanya-Kiryat-Ata series will also gain promotion, as the BSL is set to grow to 12 teams next season.
