Tomer Or has been ranked among the world's top-20 in the last five years, but the 29-year-old will be making his Olympic debut in Beijing.
Or, who at the age of 20 won the junior World Championships, failed to meet the criteria for the Athens Games, and will finally get his shot at fame in China.
At last year's World Championships he finished in 13th position and in his final event before the Olympics, came in at 22nd place at the European Championships.
A top-16 finish will be Or's primary target in Beijing, but he will undoubtedly be secretly hoping to finally fulfill the potential he displayed a decade ago at the junior World Championships and reach the quarterfinals and beyond.
