32 days to go - Itai Chama - 200m backstroke 22-year-old Itai Chama stunned the Israeli sporting world when he became the first swimmer to book his place in Beijing by reaching the semifinal of the 200m backstroke competition at last year's World Championships. Chama, who finished March's European Championships in 15th place, will find it very difficult to advance past the qualifiers in Beijing, and will first and foremost be aiming to break Yoav Gat's five-year-old Israeli record of 1:59.22m in the 200m backstroke. Chama spends most of the year training at the University of Ohio and, when in Israel, competes for Maccabi Kiryat Bialik.
