Shahar Pe'er reeled off five straight games in the second set to record a straight-sets win over Ekaterina Bychkova in their second-round match at the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, on Tuesday. Pe'er, ranked 24th in the world by the WTA, advanced to the top 16 of the $650,000 event after a 6-3, 6-3 victory. The Russian (81) was unable to match Pe'er's solid ground strokes and eventually succumbed to the unflappable Israeli. Pe'er took the first set with ease after breaking the Russian's serve twice. The Israeli fell behind 3-1 in the second, but won five straight games to advance to the next round.
