Andy Ram won his first singles match since August on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Joyce Eisenberg futures in Ra'anana. With doubles partner Yoni Erlich looking on, Ram ousted third-seeded Benjamin Balleret of Monaco 6-3, 6-4. The doubles star is ranked 809 in the world in singles and needed a wild card from organizers to get in the main draw. In the second round, he will face Swedish qualifier Henrik Norfelt. Top-seeded Amir Hadad, who won last week's futures event in Ramat Hasharon, was upset in his opener by Bosnian Ivan Dodig 7-6, 6-4. Other Israeli winners on Tuesday include sixth-seed Ishay Hadash and eighth-seed Dekel Valtzer.
