Shcherenko makes final at Junior Worlds

Israel's Taras Shcherenko reached the final of the 400 meters hurdles at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland on Thursday, finishing his semifinal in second position in a time of 51.60 seconds. The 18-year-old, who set a personal best of 51.44s in the heats on Wednesday, will become the first Israeli runner to race a final at the junior championships on Friday. High jumper Niki Palli and shot putter Sivan Jan are the only other Israelis to have competed in a final in the past.
