Soccer: Coronation Street advances to quarters

Coronation Street left it late but produced a masterclass performance to ensure qualification to the next phase of the Moshiko Soccer League last weekend. Going into the game needing a win, the boys from manchester gave their all and were rewarded with a 5-2 victory over Menucha Vesimcha. Simon Lowe was outstanding in goal, while Natan Fagelman, Shalom Dorchai, Dani Mechlovitz, Jonny Abrahams & Rafi Grosskoff were the scorers. Joining them in the prestigious second group stage were the impressive UKI. The only team to win every game were led by an inspired Yonah Brody while Rafi Goldberg scored the only goal of the game in their 1-0 victory. Yoel Deal proved his class helping Yesod to a 2-1 defeat of Derech. Coach Craig Davidson masterminded Yesod's display with Adam Friedman & Sam Tobian the scorers. A Yisrael Yanez strike gave JLE a 1-0 victory over arch rivals Moshiko. Moshiko had defended well needing only a draw but penetrating football by David Leiwy & Matt Sinclair let Yanez release his killer instinct. Also last weekend it was; Traveldeal 5, LT Santacruz 2: FC London 2, SA Seniors 1: Cafe Rimon 1, Halo Teiman 1: Emunah's Hakotel 4, Goldenballs 0: Netiv 9, Goldfus Insurance 0: Shnitzel Bruvz 6, Reishit United 0. The top two from the following groups advance to the quarter-finals.
