Streetball in Jerusalem's Safra Square

Jerusalem's Safra Square was converted into 16 basketball courts on Tuesday evening as the 11th Annual Streetball Tournament kicked off in style. The three-versus-three tournament features 200 teams ranging in age from 10 to 40 years old, and will continue on through Thursday evening. The first round of games was played Tuesday, with second round and playoff games taking place Wednesday. The highlights of this year's event will be two special games being played Thursday evening. The first of will pit a team of Knesset members against Jerusalem municipal officials, while the second will reunite legendary Maccabi Tel Aviv players like Willy Sims in a game against former Hapoel Jerusalem stars like Erez Hazan. The tournament was started 11 years ago in Jerusalem with a visit by NBA stars Abdul-Jabbar and Dennis Rodman to Jerusalem's Sacher Park.
