Surfers looking for good Friday
Israeli surfers closed the gap on the leading pack at the Neil Pryde World Windsurfing Championships on Thursday at Lake Garda in Trentino, Italy.
However, with only one day of racing remaining before the medal race on Saturday, the Israelis need an exceptional showing on Friday to have any chance of getting into the top 10 and competing for the medals.
Olympic champion Gal Fridman climbed two places to 23rd on Thursday after finishing in 13th and 24th.
Sahar Tzubari moved up one place to 33rd overall after finishing the races in 29th and 43rd. Nimrod Mashiah dropped three places to 62nd after coming in 66th and 46th.
In the women's competition, Lee Korzits jumped 10 places to 23rd overall after coming in seventh and 14th.
