Shahar Pe'er announced on Saturday that she has decided to start working with coach Pablo Giacopelli. Giacopelli, a Peruvian-born British citizen, has got his work cut out for him if he's to help Pe'er recover from a disappointing year in which she only won 26 of her 50 matches, resulting in her current ranking of number 39 in the world, her lowest position since February 2006. Pe'er will begin a training camp in South Africa with Giacopelli this week, where she will be accompanied by her physical trainer, Muli Epstein. The first two weeks of the training camp will be spent in high altitude in the Johannesburg area, with the following two weeks to be spent in the Durban area. Pe'er will return to Israel to continue training after the camp and will also compete in the Israeli Championships in December.
