Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich will open their Masters Cup account on Sunday afternoon against third ranked Paul Hanley and Kevin Ullyett. The Israeli duo, which will be playing in the event for a second straight year after the world's No.1 duo of Bob and Mike Bryan withdrew, were also drawn on Wednesday to face Martin Damm and Leander Paes and defending champions Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi. Ram and Erlich have already guaranteed themselves $50,000 simply by taking part in the prestigious event and will receive a further $15,000 for every win in the round robin. US Open champions Simon Aspelin and Julian Knowle play in the Red Group against two-time former finalists Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor, Lukas Dlouhy and Pavel Vizner and Wimbledon winners Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra. In the singles draw defending champion Roger Federer will challenge Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Roddick and Fernando Gonzalez in Red Group round robin action. World No. 2 Rafael Nadal will play the tournament's first match against Richard Gasquet, who was the last to secure his Shanghai invitation. Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer complete the Gold Group.
