Maccabi Haifa advanced to the last 32 in the UEFA Cup after a 1-1 draw against Italian club Livorno. Haifa clinched its birth after Auxerre lost 4-1 to Partizan Belgrade. Lucarelli scored Livorno's goal 20 minutes in while Roberto Collauti equalized for Haifa in the third minute of injury time.
