"Nobody knows what I'm going to do on the 12th," Trump said at the press conference. Turning to Macron, he quipped, "you have a pretty good idea."
US non-proliferation envoy Christopher Ford: "We are not seeking to renegotiate the JCPOA" nuclear deal.
"This agreement may not address all concerns – and very important concerns – this is true," Macron said. "But we should not abandon it without having something substantial, and more substantial."

"We therefore wish from now on to work on a new deal with Iran," Macron said. "I would like us to commit to that effect in the weeks and months to come."
Macron and Trump have grown close over the last year, and the French president’s personal appeal is seen by advocates of the deal as its best hope of survival.
