Rising fuel costs have "forced" El Al to raise ticket prices for the second time since April, the airline announced Sunday.
"To our regret, gas prices continue to climb upward … and we are forced to update prices in accordance," said Rami Levy, the company's vice president of sales. The increase in ticket prices comes as the airline begins promoting fall and winter fares, and range from $5 per ticket for short flights to $16 for long-haul flights. The new ticket prices won't go into effect until later in the month, and customers can still buy tickets at their previous prices.
El Al also raised ticket prices, citing fuel costs, in April, adding surcharges at the time of as much as $30 to long-range destinations.
