Close to 18 million overnight stays were booked in the country's hotels in the first eleven months of the year, representing a growth of 12 percent over the same period in 2004, the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Israel Hotels Association said Tuesday.
Bookings by Israelis made up 64% of the total, showing growth of 44%, the monthly survey reported, while tourist overnight stays rose in every city in Israel this year.
The average nationwide occupancy was 57% for the period.
In November alone, CBS and IHA reported that there were 1.5 million overnight stays, of which 892,000 were by Israelis and 653,000 by tourists. Occupancy was set at 55% for November, compared to 50% in November 2004.
