Iberia has increased its seating capacity on the Madrid-Tel Aviv route by 4 percent over the last three years

Iberia Airlines is adding two Airbus A340 airplanes to its Madrid-Tel Aviv route, the Spanish airline announced Monday. The aircraft will fly twice a week, Monday and Saturday, it said.
Iberia has increased its seating capacity on the Madrid-Tel Aviv route by 4 percent over the last three years, the airline said, adding that once the Airbus A340s start flying, it will grow another 13%.
The number of passengers flying on this route rose by 19% to 169,000 in 2007, Iberia said. Approximately 78% of the passengers (132,000) flew this route to catch a connecting flight to a destination other than Madrid. Iberia operates 14 weekly flights between Madrid and Tel Aviv.
