125 YouTube videos shortlisted for Guggenheims

6 clips created by Israeli artists are among the 125 clips chosen. Panel of judges will pick 20 videos to appear in museum exhibition in New York.

Among the hundreds of thousands of videos uploaded daily to YouTube, surely a work of art is in there somewhere. That's the premise behind "YouTube Play: A Biennial of Creative Video."
"YouTube Play" is the first curated search for videos of a higher brow on the popular Google-owned website.

They'll play at kiosks in Guggenheim museums in New York; Berlin; Bilbao, Spain, and Venice, Italy, beginning Monday.
A jury including filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and visual artist Takashi Murakami produce a final list of 20 videos that will be presented at the Guggenheim in New York on Oct. 21. The 20 videos selected by the panel judges are to be displayed in a gallery at the Guggenheim Museum in New York from October 22-24.
Among the 125 videos shortlisted are six made by Israeli artists.
Only the United States and England have more videos on the Biennial's shortlist,
