A group of young and independent theater practitioners have banded together with the aim of bringing innovative theater to the public. The Yerushalmi family, donors of the Yaron Yerushalmi Hall in Neve Zedek, are backing the idea with enthusiasm and financial support. The Yaron Yerushalmi Theater House (YYTH) is the result.
Behind YYTH and its artistic committee are producer Ari Remez, playwright and director Yankele Jacobson and designer Lily Ben Nahshon.
The first three productions are a revival of Jacobson's Uncle Hank (April 14, 15), the tragic-comic tale of an Israeli family and a dead cat, The 30th Century (April 16), Remez' brilliant adaptation of poems by David Avidan into a theatrical event that won honorable mention at last year's Acre Festival, and Hitler, the Robot and the Knife (April 1, 2, 17 and 18), two short plays on the relationships between parents and children by Boaz Debbi and directed by Yael Tilman that won Best Production at Acre 2007.
