Children interact with art in Holon.

Children interact with art in Holon From March 1 to August 30, a new exhibition at the Eye's Level Center in Holon (associated with Holon's Children's Museum) will give children the opportunity to interact with art. Called "Experiences," the exhibit will include several stations that will allow children to better understand the processes involved in creating art. There will be a theater station (where children can try out make up and costumes), a music room (with an interactive audio-visual display which includes a stepping-piano, an electronic harp, African drums and more) and a main art gallery (where children can make their own art works). "Experiences" is aimed at children aged 3-9, and lasts two hours. Children get in for NIS 45 each and adults pay NIS 20. Tickets must be booked in advance by calling 03-503-9139. Groups should call 03-501-6160. - Miriam Shaviv Shaq tackles fat kids Shaquille O'Neal will be taking a shot at a TV reality show focused on childhood obesity and health. The ABC summer series will feature the Miami Heat star and his effort to help Florida schoolchildren lose weight. Air dates for the six-episode series, yet to be titled, haven't been set The series, being filmed in Broward County, Florida, will track the lives of the children involved. O'Neal will be on hand as booster and, in episodes yet to be shot, will lobby politicians on causes including school nutrition. The show is an adaptation of the British series Ian Wright's Unfit Kids, which featured the former soccer star. O'Neal, a father of six, has been outspoken about the issue of children and weight problems. AP A Nobel display of faces The German photographer, Peter Badge, has spent the last few years traveling around the world to capture images of Nobel Prize winners with his camera. Many of his photographs have already become cultural icons. A selection of Badge's portraits will be exhibited at the gallery in the Physics faculty building at the Weizmann Institute of Science, beginning on March 14. The exhibit will feature those Nobel laureates who are members of the Weizmann Institute Board of Governors or of its Scientific and Academic Advisory Committee, who have received an honorary Ph.D. from the Institute, presented the Weizmann Memorial Lecture or worked at the Institute as visiting scientists. The Countess Sonja Bernadotte af Wisborg, President of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, will be the guest of honor at the exhibition opening. The HSO have announced a special concert in which they will perform the entire Abbey Road album. Yirmi Kaplan and the rock band The Revolvers will also be performing at the Saturday night event at 8:30pm on March 17 at Tel Aviv's Heichal HaTarbut. - Miriam Shaviv Return of the reggae rapper It's official. Matisyahu, the Chabadnik who has sold nearly two million copies of his various Jewish-themed reggae/hip-hop recordings, is returning to the Holy Land to spread his musical message. At 8:30 pm on Saturday night, March 31, the reggae rapper will be performing at Jerusalem's Binyanei HaUma (International Convention Center) and making an additional Tel Aviv appearance on April 1 at 9 pm at Hangar 11. Over the past year, Matisyahu has transformed from a much buzzed about Crown Heights rapper to a major star on the American music scene. He's appeared at Madison Square Garden, conquered the billboard charts with his album Youth and even opened for Sting at his performance here in Israel. Although he continues to do well in his musical career abroad, Matisyahu has always spoken about his special connection to the land of Israel, and in recent interviews has expressed his desire to live in Jerusalem one day.
