Beginning December 31st, the Theater Gallery in Holon will be hosting its annual caricature exhibition. Entitled "2005- The Year That Was," attendees will have the chance to view over 160 caricatures which concisely and humorously depict the year's major events.
Event organizer and Head of the Israel Caricaturists Organization, Michel Kishke, is particularly excited about this year's exhibition which will cover, amongst other things, the Disengagement, Peretz's leadership win and the Sharon-Peres coalition.
"It will be like turning the pages of last year‚s newspapers without having to read the articles," he said. The exhibition, which will be free to the general public, is only one of a number of initiatives run by the Holon municipality and the Holon Theater to support and promote Israel‚s top caricaturists.
It will feature artists such as Amos Allenbogen, Nissim Hizkiyahu, Friedel Stern and Aviv Tal, while a more permanent exhibition will be opening in 2006 entitled, "The Israel Caricature Gallery".
