Actress/choreographer Moriah Zarchiya's energetic, funny and touching dance-theater piece, Zisseleh, is a huge hit at Beit Lessin, and attracted a lot of attention at International Exposure in the fall. As a result it's off to the Rialto Theater in Limassol in mid-April with further trips planned to Toronto, Los Angeles, Paris and Berlin.
Zarchiya, 26, is a choreographer and actress who graduated from the Beit Zvi drama school. Zisseleh, or Sweetie-Pie in Yiddish, is based on her own mother's childhood as the only child of Holocaust survivors. With no dialogue, and set to songs in Hebrew and Yiddish, the piece tells the story of "the loving-painful-sad-funny relationship between Jewish mothers and their daughters."
